Yellow Dog Jack's School Journal

Male, 44 years young

Note... This journal was never really started and normally I would have deleted it but I am not doing so because he has something to say that should be heard.

Introduction

I am a wanna be driver! Have been for quite awhile now. I have been driving wreckers for about 14 years with no tickets or accidents. Towed everything from motorcycles to semis. I have not driven for 10 years.

I decided to go to a school (CDL Mill) called C-1 Driver Solutions in Indianapolis, IN.  All I can say is that it was the absolute wrong way to go!! I want to warn you if you are one of those considering going to a CDL Mill. I am presently looking at a $5,000.00 bill @ 18% interest, and no job for that matter.

My schooling consisted of one week in the classroom learning trip planning, map reading, log book, DOT physical, drug screen. I did very well in class. Week two we were herded like cattle out to the range. To put it mildly we spent 80% of the time watching movies and 10% driving the CDL testing route. I wonder, why I did not pass my CDL driving test?

The first trainer I had was a real screamer; I mean, who can drive with some nut yelling in your ear? The second trainer was excellent, but unfortunately he ran out of time to train me. You see they had another class coming in.

This is what you get from a CDL Mill and that is all. Out of 27 students, a little less than half got a CDL. And they are out there driving down the road with about 6 hrs drive time!!  I am going to another school. I learned a very expensive and painful lesson. Thank you for letting me share it.
